Emcogroup Ltd. is a family owned and run business, providing a comprehensive range of commercial, domestic, and industrial electrical products to suit a wide variety of applications. From our 32,000 square feet headquarters and warehouse based in Hertford, we have a massive stockholding, and we are able to deliver next day to most of the UK. All of our products are exclusively distributed through an extensive national network of electrical wholesalers. 0ur focus is to offer an extremely cost effective solution without sacrificing quality. Our Timeline
1991 - 1999
Incorporated 3rd May 1991, under the name of Emco Electrical Ltd. The name was derived from the initials of the founders of the company. Michael Evans and Mark Cain (EMC). A range of 12 low voltage fittings, were launched with a single page A4 leaflet.
The company name was changed to ‘Emcolite’ to reflect the direction the company was taking. Due to continued growth, moved to larger premises in Gentleman’s Field in Ware, this enabled further stock expansion.
Emcovent was launched from our new facility in Hertford, a complete range of stylish ventilation products at competitive prices, a credible alternative.
1999 - Today
Emcolite and Emcovent were incorporated under the name of Emcogroup Ltd. The aim was to make it easy for wholesalers to order from our catalogue, with such a wide range of products, and a low carriage paid order, Emcogroup continued to grow. Emcolite moved from Ware to the Hertford warehouse, this improved efficiency.
The introduction of ‘Emco’ accessories and continued growth, necessitated a move to our new 36,000 square feet head office and warehouse in Hertford. This enabled the company to increase stockholding significantly.
Continued expansion of the commercial lighting range sees the introduction of 3 circuit mains track lighting. Incorporating many light sources including LED and ceramic discharge. LED ‘strip lighting’ A two circuit track system that incorporates T5 fluorescent and track spotlights again making good use of LED and low watt ceramic discharge. LED high bay and floodlighting, and the new ‘Bridglux’ 7W LED, which we believe is a direct replacement for 50W dichroic/reflector lamps. Emcosafe introduce a number of new emergency lights that use high power LED’s. Emcovent introduce ‘Low Watt’ energy efficient fans.
