EU Directives have adopted the RoHS (Restrictions on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directives.

Effective on 1 July 2006, RoHS bans the use of certain hazardous materials, such as lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium,
polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), in electronics products sold in Europe.

We have ensured that all products delivered into our 32,000 square foot warehouse in Hertfordshire comply to the new substance levels. This has meant that new production lines have been set up in our partner factories to enable them to issue us with certificates of compliance enabling us to pass on this assurance.

The WEEE Directive, on the other hand, promotes the reuse and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Manufacturers will be responsible for taking back, treating and/or recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
